Liz Jernigan brings over 25 years of teaching experience to her dynamic artistic journey. With a foundation rooted in education, Liz discovered her true passion in the arts, especially in the vibrant world of theater, where she taught technical theater and acting.
Over the past six years, Liz has devoted herself to mastering a variety of painting mediums, including oil, watercolor, acrylic, and even plaster for mixed media works. Her artistic vision celebrates the beauty of nature, often depicting people, places, and objects in natural settings. Liz has a particular affinity for texture, employing tools like palette knives, sponges, and brushes to create depth and dimension in her pieces.
Since her debut in 2018, Liz’s work has captured the attention of art lovers and critics alike. She exhibited at the Gallery of Local Artists in Flagler Beach, Florida, and in 2024 expanded her reach to shows and expos in Chicago, Minnesota, and Louisville, Kentucky. Most recently, Liz earned a Merit Award at the Space Coast Art Festival in Viera, Florida—a testament to her evolving artistry and dedication.
Drawing inspiration from the lakes and waters that surround her, Liz creates works that resonate with her deep connection to the natural world. When she’s not in her studio, she enjoys walking, swimming, birdwatching, and playing guitar, all of which feeds her creative spirit and enriches her artistic practice.
